I've been accepted to JET and barring something unfortunate I will leave for Japan at the end of July. There I will spend my first piece of time in Tokyo and then go to my assigned city and school. I won't find out where I am being assigned until early June. Again I have to wait.
At least now I can begin to prepare. I have ordered guidebooks, novels, and langauge tools to help me get started. I also have to consider what I need to do before I go. Sell this, buy that. Find someone to water my plants. I also have to try and figure out how to continue graduate school while living so far away. This shouldn't be much of a problem because the master's program I am in is designed for just such a thing.
I'm relieved and excited. By the begining of August my soles will have another 35,000 miles on them.
